Mental health and the child like mind

Fawn Elaine Brashear like a Baby Deer was what I was taught to say I'm order to help people get my name right. Well, I still have to use that but now I am ...Fawn Elaine Brashear the Bipolar Baby Deer.

I began my battle with mental health when I was young. 7 yrs old I can remember the trips to the doctor fondly as a chance to hang out with my mom who worked too much too hard acting as both mom and dad for 3 young hooligans. The sun shine would always put me to sleep on the ride there after we stopped and got chicken livers from the gas station and filled our bellies of course and if the session was particularly bad we got Dairy Queen on the way home.

As a child those would be some of my happiest memories some of my only ones... Growing up the stigma of mental illness wasn't something I thought about. Kids don't think like that. As an adult the trauma I endured and experienced growing up is more than enough for me to understand my actions then but at the time I can remember many instances when my thoughts or feelings got locked away because we just didn't share those things or there was never a right time to talk about it.

To be continued.
